Feature Focus: Demo – Databricks Unity Catalog Integration | AI Linking | Asset Diagram
See how TopQuadrant’s Databricks Unity catalog integration allows users to import metadata from their configured Databricks instance by creating a new data asset collection. Use AI Linking to automatically connect existing terms to new metadata. See how the TQ Asset Diagram enables visual creation of assets and instances of classes, making it easier to work with subject matter experts and brainstorm relationships at the instance level.
Hey, everybody. Steve Haddon here from Top Quadrant. Today, we’re talking about a couple new features that are out in your TQ Data Foundation. I just wanna highlight what they are and what you could do with them. First off, on the landing page here, you can see if I click import data. Now there’s a new option called Databricks Unity catalog, and this allows you to import Databricks Unity catalog from the Databricks instance that you have configured. So you’ll have to go in and configure your specific instance. You write the collection name here and the namespace, and then press import, and then it’ll create a new data asset collection populated with the metadata from that Unity catalog. If I expand this, I I could see any metadata associated with that target term. And And if I agree with that suggestion, I press apply, then those two things are connected. When I go back here, you you could see right there that is now connected to wristband. That’s That’s how we went from a string over here to a thing over here in the taxonomy. The The The last thing I wanna show is our new asset diagram, which which which allows you to create assets or instances of classes visually. This This This is great for working with subject matter experts or just just just just brainstorming how things might relate to each other at at the the instance level. You You You could see here on the left, this this this this is a data graph I’m using here to just just create create instances of things, but behind it, it, there there is an ontology. And And And in that ontology, I’ve defined what is a credit card card policy policy offer. And And And And so you can see those things are here on the left, and and and I can see them in a traditional format that that that that we all use. But But But now I can also create this visual on the right. And And those the left and the right are connected. So So I click it. You You You see it’s highlighted there, and and and then I could create new instances. So So I’ll create an offer, and and and and I can make it an instance of the class offer, offer, which which is defined in my ontology. And And And And then because you you you you could see then it appears over here on the left. So So So So the REF is being written for me under under under the hood, and then I can connect it to, say, a credit
