Getting Started with TopBraid Composer

Walks through the basic steps after Composer has been installed. In this demo we create a new project with an OWL file, then we create classes, properties and instances and show how to access visualization and source code.

Geography and Mapping Support

This video demonstrates how to access geospatial information with Composer. We assign geographical coordinates to resources from a map and then perform some types of queries to find resources with specific logical characteristics.

Spreadsheet Import (11/06/2007)

This video shows how to use TopBraid's spreadsheet importer to lift tabular data into an OWL ontology.

Importing arbitrary XML files (11/10/2007)

This screencam demo shows how to import an XML file into TopBraid Composer (Maestro Edition), runs a SPARQL query over the XML data and performs other transformations. Finally, an HTML file is imported to OWL. Note that this video still uses the term xmap for what we now call Semantic XML.

Create Reports and Charts with BIRT (11/12/2007)

This short video shows how to create a pie chart diagram from data stored in an ontology. This uses the BIRT report generator feature of TopBraid Composer's Maestro Edition.

Creating a SPARQLMotion Script (03/01/2008)

This 5 minutes video demonstrates how to create a SPARQLMotion script with TopBraid Composer Maestro Edition. We start by importing a news feed and then convert the resulting RDF triples into a spreadsheet file. While doing so, we also explain the graph editing capabilities.
