The core components of Composer such as Jena are open-source, while Composer's own API is well-documented, helping plug-in developers create extensions to Composer:
TopBraid Composer Plug-in Development Guide
Some community members are contributing their plug-ins as third-party extensions.
TopBraid Composer users can benefit from professional support and training classes for all levels of experience. TopQuadrant furthermore offers software development solutions ranging from plug-in development to deployable semantic end-user applications.
Most of the features in TopBraid Composer have been optimized to meet the requirements of real-world projects that TopQuadrant staff encounters during its consulting, training and development work. TopBraid is also driven by customer feedback and we appreciate further comments on how to improve the system.

Eclipse is an open source community whose projects are focused on providing a vendor-neutral open development platform and application frameworks for building software. Now supported by the Eclipse Foundation, original contributors to Eclipse included IBM. TopBraid Composer is built on top of Eclipse, so that the many existing Eclipse plug-ins can be used side by side with Composer.
