The following instructions describe how to update / install an existing TopBraid Composer installation, using the Eclipse Update Manager.

1. Add TopBraid Composer Update Site

Start TopBraid Composer / Eclipse and then proceed to Help / Install New Software...

A Install dialog will appear. On the Install dialog, check if the TopBraid Composer update site is listed under the Work with drop down box. If it is not present enter: http://www.topquadrant.com/products/updates/3.4/ for 3.4.x release or http://www.topquadrant.com/products/updates/3.5/ for 3.5.x release. Press Add.

2. Selecting upgdates to install

• TopBraid Composer FE to update / install TopBraid Composer Free Edition
• TopBraid Composer SE to update / install TopBraid Composer Standard Edition
• TopBraid Composer ME to update / install TopBraid Composer Maestro Edition

3. Finish install

4. Refresh Workspace

When migrating to TopBraid Composer 3.4 using a workspace created with a previous version, you will need to refresh system projects to align with the current version. Choose one of the following methods to accomplish this:

1. Delete the projects named "TopBraid" and "server.topbraidlive.org", then re-start TopBraid Composer. The projects will be re-created when Composer re-starts.


2. Create a new workspace(File > Switch Workspace, create an empty folder) and import individual projects to the new workspace using Import > General > Existing Projects into Workspace.

Notes:
1. If for some reason the Eclipse update manager fails, in particular inside company firewalls, you may need to change the proxy settings. To enable an HTTP proxy connection, select Window > Preferences from the Eclipse menu bar, and then select Install/Update. In the Proxy settings group, check Enable HTTP proxy connection and fill in your HTTP proxy host address and port.

2. For TBC Clear products, if you want to install specific features (such as JXL library to add support for spreadsheets), then select the corresponding feature in step 2.
